Partial UKA

knee arthroscopy.jpeg

Unicompartmental knee arthroplasty, also known as partial knee replacement, is a surgical procedure that replaces only the damaged or worn-out part of the knee joint. Unlike total knee replacement, which replaces the entire knee joint, unicompartmental knee arthroplasty is a less invasive surgery that can help relieve pain, improve mobility, and restore function to the knee joint while preserving healthy tissue and bone. It may be recommended for patients with early to mid-stage arthritis or other knee conditions affecting only one part of the joint. Recovery time is generally faster than with total knee replacement, and patients may experience less pain and better range of motion. Make an appointment to talk with Dr. Johnson to find out if unicompartmental knee arthroplasty is right for you.
