Latarjet Procedure

knee arthroscopy.jpeg

The Laterjet procedure is a medical procedure that can be used to treat shoulder instability. During the procedure, a surgeon will make a small incision in the shoulder and reposition a small bone fragment called the coracoid process. The surgeon will then attach the coracoid process to the front of the shoulder blade using screws or other fixation devices. This helps to stabilize the shoulder joint and prevent dislocations or other types of instability. The procedure is typically done under general anesthesia and may require a period of restricted activity or physical therapy to allow for proper healing. If you are experiencing shoulder instability or dislocations, make an appointment with Dr. Johnson to see if the Laterjet procedure might be a good option for you.
